Introducing Shassidy Rock

With all the free-for-all stuff that is out there I've decided to link the two of my personas Shaunna Gonzales and Shassidy Rock. Why you might ask? Well for starters it is easier and well, I need to keep you, the reader on track with what I'm writing. At first I was just going to keep this all under one name and I have since discovered the advantages of writing under a pseudonym. (I love that word even if I have difficulty spelling it.) And I should have done this years ago when the inkling of an urge settled itself on my shoulders, but well, I didn't and now I'm wishing I would have. Anyway, I am going to use my Shassidy Rock persona  for my time-travel and my Shaunna Gonzales for my sweet, wholesome romances. What that means to you, my readers... unfortunately my time-travel novels will be taken off sale during this transition. I'm sorry, that is just the way it is. While it is off the shelves I will send it to a copy editor and fix a few things, namely her name will be Tricia rather than Trish. I have met a woman who goes by Tricia but not Trish. Have no fear though, she will still go though the same hornets nests.

That is it, Shassidy Rock is born (well, she was born a long time ago but she is now out in the world for everyone to see.) The greatest compliment to me would be a rash of young baby girls named Shassidy after this. Wouldn't that be awesome?

Felicity should have suspected something when she got hired to take pictures at a resort in Belize, all expenses paid. When she arrives and bumps into her ex-fiancĂ©, Aiden, she realizes she’s been set up. His grandmother is playing matchmaker and every time she turns around Grams is forcing Aiden and her together. But she can’t fall for him again, it was a disaster last time, and she doesn’t want to repeat the past.
Aiden can’t believe Felicity is at his resort. She broke his heart five years ago, and he’s determined not to allow it to happen again. But one disaster after another keeps forcing them together and he’s sure Grams is behind all of it. He’s just not sure how long he can hold out without pulling Felicity into his arms and confessing that he never really got over her.
Her Big Fat Dreamy Billionaire Ex is a sweet romance, and it is a stand-alone no
What counsel would I give to young authors?
I'd tell them to never give up. Keep writing and telling those wonderful stories. Learn from others. Don't get discouraged because every author gets told they can't write, just go look at the bad reviews on your favorite books.

How much do you write everyday?
I try to write 2,000 words a day, but I don't make that goal every day.

What projects are you currently working on? What can you tell us about these projects?
I'm currently writing a short story that I will give away free for joining my newsletter. It's called a reader magnet. The story is a romantic comedy called My Sister's Fiance.

How do you promote your books?
Mostly I write to market and don't worry so much about promoting them. Sometimes I'll make one free and buy up ads for it.

What inspired you to write?
I've always thought it would be cool to tell people I wrote a book.

When did you write your first novel?
I wrote my first novel when my back went out and I couldn't get up out of bed. That was in 2006.

What hobbies do you enjoy when you are not writing?
I love crochet and I'm a graphic designer so I love messing around with photoshop.

Thank you!!

Thanks Shaunna! Here are the questions and my answers!
What counsel would you give new and upcoming authors? Write the story that you like and refine it - but only a little - afterwards. Keep your voice.
How much do you write every day? 2-3000 words, but some of that is edits.
How do you promote your books? FB under my author page; my NL list; Twitter; trying Bookclicker; Instafreebie and Bookfunnel to give away books>my newsletter>my book on Amazon via links in the books. I'm still trying everything!
What kind of research do you do? As little as possible! But if there is a fact to check, I check it until it is perfect. Just checking on what age 5/6 grade kids are and how much they weigh today!
How did you get started as an author? Short stories recently. But I wrote a business-based anecdotal story in 2004 and left it in my virtual file till 2014, when I finally published it (under a pen name - it has been spectacularly unsuccessful, but I may resurrect it in the future).
What or whom inspired you? Reading and movies. I write romance, so Nicholas Sparks. I also love Carly Simon for the stories behind her lyrics. Don't get me started on Leonard Cohen!
What writing projects are you currently working on? A HEA Romance novella series based in Maine - on the seaside. Love stories with the message that you can make the difference.
What can you tell us about these projects? I'm writing my 4th story. Book one is out, book 2 is on final edit, book 3 is in dreft and ready to edit. Book 4 is still half done! When did you write your first novel? I did NaNoWriMo in November 2016. I'm editing the heck out of that right now!
What do you want readers to take away from reading your novel? That positives can happen if you make them.
What hobbies do you enjoy when you are not writing? Hiking; travelling; photography; more writing! https://www.amazon.com/dp/b07cyjjvk8

Oh my, it's been a long, long time since I posted anything here. Really, I do this now because I recently got a note, if you can call it...
