Working on a Series. What do you like?

Interesting... I recently started several conversations on  Facebook  about reading a series, mainly how do people like their series? Do you like them linked by a common place or theme, but all stand alone? Do you like a flow from one to the other, but still independent? Or do you like them so closely interwoven you have to read them all in order to get the whole story... cliffhangers and all?

I like to read a review on a book before I buy it, that way I can find out if it is part of a series and if it ends in a cliffhanger. If it does have that confounded cliffhanger, I won't buy it until the series if finished and I can read them all in a row.

Currently, I'm writing a trilogy, but each book has their own main story that starts and finishes, yet there is a common thread that runs throughout the first two that becomes the main plot in the third book. I can't stand cliffhangers. I've read one too many where the next book doesn't come out for two or three years, and sometimes it doesn't come out at all.

Oh My!

Oh my, it's been a long, long time since I posted anything here. Really, I do this now because I recently got a note, if you can call it...
